NORTH COUNTRY VETERINARY SERVICES
This is a multiple doctor mixed animal practice established in 1957.
We are looking for a full time mixed or primarily small animal veterinarian. Bovine, rectal, and surgical skills are a plus but the position can be from 50/50 large animal/small animal mix to 100% small animal. New grads will be considered. We offer a competitive salary with full medical & dental insurance, paid vacation, meeting days & holidays, CE allowance, bonus/profit sharing plan, VIN membership, as well as all professional dues and licensing fees.
The primary clinic is in Pulaski, which has the Salmon River running through it and is known for its runs of salmon and steelhead. The second clinic is near the city of Oswego, which is a great college town. Both are affordable and safe places to live and raise a family. Outdoor opportunities abound with nearby Lake Ontario, state parks, fishing, hunting, camping, canoeing and snowmobiling. Syracuse is a short drive away with all it has to offer, including exceptional restaurants, SU football and basketball, the New York State Fair, great places to shop, and excellent medical care.

LICENSED VETERINARY TECHNICIAN
Summary: Assists Doctors in performance of multiple procedures providing care for animals including physical examination, dental procedures, surgeries, blood drawing, lab testing, immunizations, euthanasia as well as client education, marketing and inventory maintenance. Requires a working knowledge of pharmaceutical drugs, common diseases and preventative health care recommendations.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to record, work, and read documents in word processing software; spreadsheet software, and Avimark (practice software).
NYS Licensed Veterinary Technician and/or completed educational qualifications to sit for licensing exam.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must use a variety of equipment including x-ray machine, x-ray processor, microscope, blood machines, laser ultrasound machine, dental x-ray machine, anesthesia machine, and patient monitors.
